From what you see in the wild, you’d tend to believe that every El Camino ever built was an SS with a 454 and a stick. But then there’s this, maybe the first ‘70 I’ve ever seen that hasn’t been turned into an SS clone.

In a way, I kinda hope it stays like this, because you never see it and it would almost be a shame to drop an LS into it. But then, what’s the use of it as is?
At a current bid around $15k, that sounds like somebody bidding on what it is rather than bidding on a clean one to modify.

Now if only it was a Sprint. I’ve had an unnatural attraction to theses since I first learned about them.

It really is a shame that the 6 will be tossed for an LS or other powerplant.
I’d love to have an oddball survivor like that.

I’d like to see it kept that way cosmetically, but with the bowties painted blue and an L88 or a ZL1 dropped in.

I’m with you. Didn’t know they weren't all clones by this point

That’s your daily driver, while the monster 7mpg SS clone stays in the garage for weekend play.

That's the best plan for it right there. It would be a super cool little parts runner for a small shop too.
